9/1 — WEEK ONE — YOUR MATERIALS
Special Guest: Julian Ramirez - Manager, Echo Lake Entertainment
We’ll review headshots and talk representation with Julian, followed by a Q&A. Then we’ll dig into reels & how you’re presenting yourself to the industry.
9/8 — WEEK TWO — THE SELF-TAPE
Receive professional audition material, submit (2) self-tapes, and work through your choices, technique, and adjustments.
9/15 — WEEK THREE — THE CASTING CALLBACK
Special Guest: S.J. Allocco-St. Germain - Casting Director (Orange is the New Black, Girls, Sex Lives of College Girls)
Perform live for a working casting director, take redirects, and experience a professional callback/work session.
9/22 — WEEK FOUR — THE FINAL CALLBACK
Special Guest: Josh Margolin - Director, Thelma
Take your scene into a final director session and experience the last stage of the casting process.
OVERVIEW
This intensive is designed to emulate the real-world process actors experience throughout their careers.
You'll begin by examining the materials that get you into the room, receive and self-tape professional audition material, work live with a casting director, and ultimately take your scene into a final callback with a working film/television director.
Each week builds on the one before it, with guest industry professionals offering their perspective from their specific stage of the process.
This workshop is open to actors of all experience levels.
WEEK ONE — YOUR MATERIALS
Special Guest: Julian Ramirez - Manager, Echo Lake Entertainment
Before the auditions come in, you need materials that get you noticed.
We'll review your headshots, resume, demo reel, and overall presentation with feedback from both Aaron and a working theatrical agent or manager. Together, we'll discuss how your materials currently position you within the industry and identify opportunities for growth.
We'll also talk about your individual goals for the workshop. Is there a genre you want to explore? A type of character missing from your reel? A side of yourself you haven't yet had the opportunity to showcase?
This isn't about branding or “entry points” but meeting you where you are, evaluating how your materials currently represent you, and identifying where you want to go next.
We'll cover:
Headshots, resumes, reels and clips
Q&A with agent/manager - what they look for when signing new talent
Identifying strengths and gaps in your current materials
Setting individual goals for the workshop
WEEK TWO — THE SELF-TAPE
Congratulations! You've signed with representation, and the auditions have arrived.
Prior to class, you'll receive two scenes to prepare and self-tape at home. Together, we'll watch each tapes, discuss your choices, analyze the material to find what worked and explore ways to strengthen your work.
We'll cover:
Scene and character analysis
Making specific choices / finding ways to immerse your essence and POV
Finding additional layers in the material.
Technical aspects of self-taping
WEEK THREE — THE CASTING CALLBACK
Special Guest: Casting Director S.J. Allocco-St. Germain (Orange is the New Black, Girls, Sex Lives of College Girls)
Your self-tape worked and casting wants to see more.
You'll perform one of your Week Two scenes live for a guest casting director who will approach the material with fresh eyes.
Be prepared to take adjustments, pivot quickly, and remain flexible, even if the direction differs from what you explored the previous week.
The goal is to recreate a professional callback or working session— arriving with a prepared scene but remaining open enough to collaborate and adjust in real time.

Q&A with our casting professional
WEEK FOUR — THE FINAL CALLBACK
Special Guest: Josh Margolin - Director, Thelma
You've made it through casting. Now you're meeting the director.
For the final week, you'll do a live Zoom “callback” with a working film or television director.
At this stage, everyone being considered can act. The question becomes: Who is right for this role, this director, and this particular project?
You'll perform your scene as you would in a final callback, receive adjustments directly from the director, and explore the material collaboratively.
After the final reads, we'll open the room for a candid conversation with our guest director about what happens on the other side of the Zoom screen: what makes an actor stand out, what directors are evaluating during final callbacks, how chemistry factors into casting decisions, and why the person who ultimately books the role isn't always the person who gave the "best" audition.
We'll cover:
Preparing for a director callback
Working directly with a director
Taking adjustments and making them your own
Balancing your interpretation with a director's vision
Q&A with Director
